Plan your journey

to Wernigerode and the Harz Mountains

Wernigerode is located on the northern edge of the Harz Mountains. Along the northernmost low mountain range in Germany are the neighbouring towns of Blankenburg and Thale to the east and Ilsenburg, Bad Harzburg and Goslar to the west. In the Harz foreland, the towns of Halberstadt and Quedlinburg are well known to most people. Trains on the Harz narrow-gauge railway run from Wernigerode to the Brocken via the town of Schierke.
