Yes, if you are an overnight guest in Wernigerode or one of its districts, you will receive the WERNIGERODE-ticket guest card with your visitor's tax payment.

This guest card entitles you to use all public buses in the Harz Mountains free of charge.
For example, you can travel free of charge from Wernigerode to Schierke, Quedlinburg, Thale, Blankenburg and Halberstadt.

 

Wernigerode is located on the Hanover-Hildesheim-Goslar-Wernigerode-Halberstadt-Aschersleben-Halle(Saale)-Leipzig railway line.

Trains operated by Deutsche Bundesbahn and Abellio GmbH connect Wernigerode to the aforementioned metropolises every hour.
 

Wernigerode is located on the A36 motorway and is easy to reach from the north, west and east. From the south, the Harz must be crossed via the B81 motorway.
